Nova Scotia RCMP, Crime Reporting Portal
For Certain Non-Emergency Incidents
Residents of Nova Scotia within RCMP jurisdiction areas (excluding Halifax) can report online incidents of mischief/damage to property or vehicle (under $5,000), hit-and-run of an unoccupied vehicle/property (under $5,000), theft under $5,000 (including bicycles and theft from vehicles), and lost property (including licence plates and registration tags).
Upon submitting an online crime report, you will receive email confirmation containing an incident number, and an officer will follow up with you within five business days.
The online crime reporting system is available through the Nova Scotia RCMP website at https://report.rcmp.ca/novascotia. In case of an emergency, please dial 911, contact your local RCMP police detachment, or the police service in your area. Please note that crime reports will not be accepted via email or social media by the RCMP.
For individuals residing in the Halifax Regional Municipality, the RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, in conjunction with Halifax Regional Police, provides an innovative online crime reporting solution. This online resource, accessible via the HRM website, facilitates the reporting of specific non-emergency incidents: https://www.halifax.ca/.../reporti.../online-crime-reporting
